This classy fella is hella smooth!

Uberrime’s Dashing Bowtie is a relatively straightforward, semi-realistic sculpt that’s also effective in use with some of its small features. The realistic aspects come from the ridged phallic head, slight urethral bulge in the shaft underside (both of which ensure some massaging of the P/G-spot regardless of position), and balls at the base. At the same time staying a bit on the abstract side, especially in colorful pours, as these features are all smoothed out.
Speaking of smooth, one of the other defining aspects is the highly glossy surface finish of the Dashing Bowtie. I was surprised just how slick it was, as most of the dildos we own range from semi-glossy to matte surface finishes. The glossy surface makes for a very low friction experience during thrusting with even minimal lube! (Not to say to skip the lube, definitely still use lube for anal use, but could likely get away without for vaginal use)
And of course, the super cute little bowtie at the base! While this namesake doesn’t technically add to the use (well visuals if watching during use), it is a unique addition that brings an extra dash of playfulness, “class”, and makes for a great display piece.
Stay classy!
The Dashing Bowtie is highly recommended if you’re looking for:
A smooth, minimal friction play time
Relatively straight shaft, with a light-moderately pronounced coronal ridge, and a slight bulge to the underside
Slightly thick for the length (circumference and insertable length very similar)
Semi-realistic/semi-abstract dildo (with some extra flair from the bowtie)
Dimensions, inches (from Uberrime’s site):
Firmness/Material: Shore 0030, 0050, 8a, or 12a, platinum-cured silicone.
Choice of 1-3 colors (bowtie is highlighted in a different color when 2 or 3 colors are chosen).
This review is based on the Large size (mine was a random pour, but I think feels like shore 8a firmness). Also offered in Small size.
The very pretty pour and the cute bowtie were of course the first things I noticed when looking at the Dashing Bowtie, but when I picked it up what caught me most by surprise was just how smooth the surface is! To be fair, this is my first toy from Uberrime with a glossy finish explicitly listed, compared to the others I have with semi-glossy finish like the Splendid Dual Density to the matte finish of the Arboris. (most of their not explicitly listed surface finishes in my experience tend to be semi-glossy, like the Splendid’s)
So that surface finish on the Dashing Bowtie is super slick. For vaginal use you can likely get away with just natural wetness, for anal use will of course still need to use lube but likely won’t need much! Which is good, since the one limitation of highly glossy finishes is they don’t hold onto lube as well as semi-glossy to matte finishes. For anal use I found some of the lube squeegeed off but enough remained, combined with the high gloss finish, to keep it super slick. In fact, it was almost surreal during thrusting and riding feeling practically no friction at the entrance, just the internal filling and pressure each time it made its way in me.
The only texture to the sculpt is the slight-moderately pronounced phallic head/coronal ridge. This is one of the main sensations felt inside, and does a great job of rubbing the spot with each thrust! (be it P or G-spot)
As for the firmness, there’s a slight amount of squish and flexibility making it more comfortable in use, but not super soft where it can get floppy. Enough rigidity for easy thrusting or riding. And depending on personal firmness preferences, can choose between several offered firmnesses for the Dashing Bowtie.
The Dashing Bowtie’s overall appearance and sculpt is semi-realistic, and a bit on the abstract side (especially in colorful pours). There are of course the defined head, the shaft shape, and the balls at the base landing it in the semi-realistic category, but it isn’t trying to closely imitate realism either by omitting things like a faux urethral opening, skin folds, veins, wrinkles. The bowtie on the base also adds a cute flair and keeps the model on the more playful side!
The 3 color pour has Uberrime’s blend of layering and marbling starting from pink towards the tip, light blue through the midshaft, and purple into the base. The sculpt and pour itself has a very high finish quality with a smooth surface throughout, not even a single minor imperfection or irregularity to be found!
As for the shape, starting with the tip with a pronounced coronal ridge for delightful rubbing against the P/G-spot with each thrust. Going down the shaft, it is relatively straight, maybe the slightest downward curve. The main aspects standing out in the shaft are the slight bulge on the underside (which ensures some massaging of the P/G-spot even if taking it in a position the ridged head won’t be hitting the spot), and the oval cross-section shaft that is thicker from the topside to underside of the shaft and slimmer side-to-side (slips in easier for the natural opening of the orifices of choice…).
Down to the base are the smooth balls providing a larger base for stability, holding area for manually thrusting the dildo or by an O-ring in a strap-on harness, some mass to bump against when hilting it, or whatever tickles your fancy! The 6” insertable length of the large size is perfect for me to hilt with no worry of depth play and bounce against the balls. The other feature of the sculpted balls here is a slightly recessed area in the middle that adds some more visual depth and differentiation. Then on the other side is of course one of the standout features of the Dashing Bowtie sculpt and the namesake, the bowtie! This adds a dash of charm and keeps playtime classy.
The bottom of the Dashing Bowtie’s base is very smooth (definitely a theme all over for it!) and flat with a glossy sheen, neatly trimmed. I also enjoy the pretty, swirly appearance at the base in Uberrime’s marbling/layering pours, and the pattern will always be unique with the hand-pouring (just like the dildos themselves).
Very smooth and flat bases like this have what I like to call “passive suction”. This was strong enough to temporarily hold up the weight of even the large Dashing Bowtie on our shower wall! Not how I’d recommend actually using it, just to show the passive suction strength. If wanting to mount it on the wall for actual use, a double-sided suction cup would be best (for reference the width of the base on the large Dashing Bowtie is 2.25", so Uberrime's small double-sided suction cup would fit perfectly) or looking at the Dandy Bowtie that has a built-in suction cup. In use this passive suction is helpful in providing some holding power to keep the toy in place when riding on a flat surface.
The Dashing Bowtie is very smooth with few shapely areas, making him a breeze to clean. The only areas that may need any attention are underneath the head, and the indented area where the balls meet the base of the shaft.
Just soap and water is usually sufficient for silicone, but if you want a deep clean or sanitize you can boil in water OR soak in a dilute bleach solution. Uberrime also has a detailed guide on cleaning and sanitizing on their site.
The packaging is simple and discreet. The outer mailing box was a plain brown box with no mention of company or contents, shipped from “Peter Parker”. Inside wrapped in purple tissue paper (going with Uberrime’s brand color purple) were the toys in a sealed plastic baggie, a card with the company details on one side and toy/silicone care instructions on the other, and a few surprise minis/teenie weenies. Uberrime has recently started making and including more teenie weenies in their packages which is exciting, I love getting the little squishies along with the main toys!
(Note: Typically the toys will each come in individually branded bags inside the box. As these were sample product pours they came together in one bag, same as their grab bags would.)
